HSG defends its top ten position in the Financial Times ranking with 7th place

The European Business School Ranking consolidates four individual rankings published by the Financial Times over the course of a year and reflects the all-round strength of a university. In the European individual rankings, the HSG 2020 came first with its Master in Strategy and International Management (for the tenth time in a row, also worldwide), 18th with its full-time MBA and in the ranking of Executive Education, and 20th with its Executive MBA (EMBA).

HSG is  best-placed public university

"The consistent claim to offer education at the highest international level has always been a priority for the University of St.Gallen," says HSG President Prof. Dr. Bernhard Ehrenzeller. It is reflected among other things in this ranking result. "We can also be proud to be once again the best-placed public university in this Financial Times evaluation".

Three of the four individual rankings aggregated in the European Business School Ranking refer to continuing education programmes. This is why Prof. Dr. Winfried Ruigrok, Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology & Law (ES-HSG) and Delegate of the President´s Board for University Development and Executive Education, is particularly pleased about this new top ten result in the Financial Times ranking. "The continuous development and updating of our programme portfolio and learning content enables us to compete internationally among the best MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programmes," said Winfried Ruigrok.

First place in the Financial Times 2020 ranking is taken by HEC Paris, second place by London Business School. The HSG is the best-ranked university in Switzerland and the German-speaking world. Since 2013, it has always been ranked among the top 10 in this ranking, previously always between 4th and 7th place.

Meanwhile, the German "Wirtschaftswoche" has published its latest ranking of the most research-oriented business administration faculties in the German-speaking world. The University of St.Gallen with its School of Management is still in first place here in 2020. It is followed by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in second place and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU) in third place.
