Do not attach stickers to the HSGcard as this may affect the validation process or cause other malfunctions.

With pull printing, documents are not sent directly to a specific multifunction device (MFP), but to the central "print2me" queue.
To do this, select the "print2me" printer driver in the print dialogue. You can then print your document at any MFP using your HSGcard. Simply hold the card up to the device reader – you will be logged in automatically. Then select the desired print job using the print2me button.
Unclaimed print jobs are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
The same MFPs are also available for copying and scanning. To do this, log in to the device with your HSGcard and then select the desired function, "Copy" or "Scan2me".
Printing, copying and scanning are free of charge for employees. For this reason, a fictitious credit balance of CHF 999.99 is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the print2me account.
Do not forget to log out.

If "Blocked card" is printed on the HSGcard during validation, this is usually due to an outdated HSG-card. A new HSGcard has already been issued, but an attempt has been made to validate the old HSG-card. Please check whether you are using an outdated HSGcard or a new one.
If you have not received a new HSGcard, please send a photo of the front of your HSGcard to hsgcard@unisg.ch with a brief description of the problem.
If the message "Unknown card" appears on the validation station, there is a problem with the chip on the HSGcard.
Please send a photo of the front of your HSGcard to hsgcard@unisg.ch with a brief description of the problem. We will then check all the information in the system and, if necessary, ask you to make an appointment so that we can check the chip on site.
If the card reader at the barrier in the sports hall flashes red and you are unable to enter, your access may have expired or there may be another problem.
In this case, please send a photo of the front of your HSGcard to hsgcard@unisg.ch with a brief description of the problem.
If you use the HSGcard as a key for certain buildings at the University of St. Gallen and access does not work, it may be that you have not yet been granted access rights. Please contact the administration of your department. Students who require access to club premises can contact infrastructure@shsg.ch.
Once you have been granted access, you can make an appointment via hsgcard@unisg.ch so that access can be activated on site.
If access was previously working but no longer does, it must be reactivated on your HSGcard. To do so, please send a photo of the front of your HSGcard to hsgcard@unisg.ch with a brief description of the problem.
If your HSGcard gets stuck in the validation station, please send an email to hsgcard@unisg.ch as soon as possible.
Once your HSGcard has been retrieved, you will receive a collection invitation by email.
Yes, the HSGcard also serves as a library card for the university library. Your library user number is either your matriculation number (for students) or the card number (for employees). To borrow media, you must have a library account, which you can register for here.
Here you can link your HSGcard to your library account so that you can use it as a library card.
Example matriculation number (for students): XX-XXX-XXX (please enter without the hyphens)
Example card number (for employees): 6299 1200 XXXX XXXX
If you have any further questions, the library staff will be happy to assist you during service hours at the circulation desk, on +41 71 224 22 70, or via bibliothek@unisg.ch.
The HSGcard can be used to pay in the canteen in the main building and in the cafeteria in the library building (Catering Services Migros). It can also be used as a means of payment for printing and copying. To do this, the card must be topped up with money at hsgcard.boncard.ch:
The HSGcard does not allow negative balances.
Thanks to the magnetic strip on the back, the card can be used without a PIN.
The credit is not stored on the HSGcard, but in the personalised HSGcard Centre, which is administered by the company boncard.
Your HSGcard can be used for printing, copying and scanning.
To print and copy, students must top up their HSGcard with money. The fee schedule can be found here.
Printing and copying are free of charge for employees and student employees, and scanning is free for everyone.
Detailed instructions can be found here.
Access to the sports hall is possible with a valid HSGcard. A one-time introduction is required to train in the gym. You can complete this here via the Unisports website.
The HSGcard can be validated around two working days after completing the gym introduction. The gym icon is printed on the HSGcard and serves as authorisation for use.
Upon de-registration or termination of employment at the University of St.Gallen, credit balances of more than CHF 20 will be refunded.
To claim a refund, this form (only in German) must be completed in full and sent to the finance department by email to info-finanzen@unisg.ch.
If you need a new HSGcard, you can order one here via the payment portal. The fee for a new HSGcard is CHF 20.
If your HSGcard is lost or damaged, your credit balance will remain unaffected as it is stored in your personal account. You can block your card at the HSGcard Centre. You can log in using the account you created yourself.
Separate validation is required to use the lockers in the basement of SQUARE.
To do this, hold your HSGcard next to the separate reader next to the validation station in the main building (behind the info desk). As soon as the green tick appears, the card must be validated again in the usual way (the validation station is to the right of the reader).
