The Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS) is a strategic alliance of the top worldwide business schools and multinational corporations.

The CEMS Alliance is made up of 34 internationally acclaimed academic institutions that work together with over 70 partner companies to facilitate a unique combination of high-quality education combined with practical experience for international Master’s students. Since its founding in 1988, the programme has continued to grow, a fact that is certainly owing to the success and popularity of the CEMS Master's in International Management, the CEMS MIM programme. A permanent feature in the top 10 of the FT ranking of all “Master of Science in Management” programmes worldwide.

Partnership in International Management (PIM) is a network of 65 of the world’s leading business schools.

Nearly 40 years ago the "Groupe HEC", "New York University" and the "London Business School" founded this partnership network. The University of St.Gallen has been a member of the PIM since 1990. The aims of the network are the same as they were 40 years ago:

  • an exchange of knowledge by the members, supported by international cooperation 
  • exchange of students and faculty members 
  • collaborative programmes 
  • research and other trans-national projects

The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) is an association of 67 member schools in North America, Asia and Europe.

APSIA is dedicated to improving vocational training in the field of international relations and thus promoting international understanding, prosperity, peace and security. The member schools strive to create worldwide excellence in professional education in the field of international relations through the exchange of information and ideas between APSIA members, other universities from the international relations community and the public.


GBSN's 71 world-class business schools span 35 countries on 6 continents. They are network members and are contributing expertise to GBSN programmes.

Since 2003, GBSN has been a leader in promoting management education as a critical component in successful international development strategies. GBSN is fostering a network of emerging business leaders who are committed to using the power of business to create a better world. The next generation of skilled managers will have a positive impact on society throughout their professional careers and beyond.


GRLI – Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative comprises 70 partner organisations who join based on their commitment to transforming leadership development.

The Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) is a worldwide partnership of companies and business schools/learning organisations working together in a laboratory of change to develop a next generation of globally responsible leaders. The GRLI engages in thought leadership, advocacy and projects to achieve measurable impact. 

Over the past years the GRLI has developed the concept of global responsibility as a higher order of responsibility beyond CSR and catalysed the creation of two new academic journals (Journal of Global Responsibility and The Sustainability, Accounting, Management and Policy Journal). It’s current work includes a framework to measure global responsibility (The GRID) which has been successfully tested in a number of organisations.


PRME – Principals for Responsible Management Education – PRME – United Nations Global Compact's mission is to inspire and champion responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally.

The PRME are inspired by internationally accepted values such as the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. They seek to establish a process of continuous improvement among institutions of management education in order to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business and society in the 21st century.

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact brings business together with UN agencies, labour, civil society and governments to advance ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Through the power of collective action, the Global Compact seeks to mainstream these ten principles in business activities around the world and to catalyse actions in support of broader UN goals. With over 7,000 participating companies and hundreds of other stakeholders from more than 120 countries, it is the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship initiative.


On 21 November 2012, the academic universities, universities of applied science and universities of teacher education in Switzerland together founded swissuniversities.

Swissuniversities will endeavour to consolidate and further develop collaboration between the Swiss academic universities, universities of applied sciences and universities of teacher education. Since the beginning of 2013, it has been acting at an international level as national rectors' conference in the place of CRUS for all Swiss academic universities, universities of applied sciences and universities of teacher education.
