Become a mentee

Take an active role in shaping your development.

The mentoring cycle 2026-2028 will start in autumn 2026.
Students can apply in September. Details of the application process will be published in summer 2026.

 

Who can become a mentee?

The HSG Mentoring Programme is aimed at students who want to start thinking about their personal and professional development early on.

 

What are the requirements for participation?

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD programme at the HSG for at least another year (preferably 1.5 years).
  • You are looking for proactive exchange with an experienced person from the working world.
  • You are open to feedback and want to work on your personal and professional development.
  • You have the capacity and time available for regular contact.

 

What makes a succuessful mentoring exchange?

  • Initiative: You contribute your own topics and questions to the regular exchange (at least one conversation per semester).
  • Commitment: You stick to agreements and ensure continuity in the mentoring relationship.
  • Willingness to learn and reflect: You are motivated to develop professionally and personally.
  • Openness and respect: You appreciate different perspectives and use feedback constructively.
  • Active participation: The more proactive you are in shaping the exchange, the more you will benefit from mentoring.

 

Who are our mentors?

More than 500 alumni and friends of HSG are involved in our mentoring programme. They are self-employed, freelancers, or employed professionals and work, among others, at the following organisations:
ABB, Accenture, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Deutsche Bank, Google, Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, KPMG, McKinsey, Nestlé, Novartis, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Roland Berger, SAP, Swiss National Bank, Swiss Red Cross, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Swiss Re, UBS, Zurich Insurance, and many more.
