My academic background is in German language studies, research on conversation, and speech education.
Linguistics, Modern German Literature and Slavic Studies constituted the main focus of my master's studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany. My master's thesis was dedicated to the analysis of linguistic content in the training of radio speakers.
The PhD thesis that followed later at the University of St.Gallen examined political conversations in the novels of Theodor Fontane.
My current research interest is on language-based technologies, e.g. neural algorithms of machine translation and their influence on the way how we use languages.
I have more than 10 years of experience in teaching German, German correspondence, and business German. Currently, I teach German at the University of St.Gallen.
