Legal and data protection provisions of the MilVrb HSG
The Military Liaison Office of the HSG has a military mandate and is therefore part of the official channel for the coordination between compulsory service and studies. The MilVrb HSG is thus the official legal representation for all enrolled students of the University of St.Gallen HSG.
"As a student of the University of St.Gallen HSG, you are subject to the DS of the HSG and cantonal legislation. However, as soon as you make use of the services of MilVrb HSG, you are subject to the DS of the Confederation and military legislation".
Data protection
Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the data protection provisions of the Confederation, every person is entitled to protection of their privacy and protection against misuse of their personal data. MilVrb HSG complies with these provisions. Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold nor released to third parties. These provisions are subject to the confidentiality and secrecy provisions of military legislation. Data will only be received, assessed, forwarded and archived through official channels.

Due to its "military mandate", MilVrb HSG is directly subject to the Federal Act and the Military Act (MG) on Data Protection (DSG). Cantonal (SG) and institutional (HSG) legislation also applies accordingly in this context.
The collection and processing of personal data is carried out in particular by you yourself by voluntarily completing and forwarding the official MilVrb HSG forms. Data is sent and received by e-mail in PDF format exclusively via your student e-mail address (@student.unisg.ch).
MilVrb HSG endeavours in close cooperation with the University of St.Gallen HSG (including the IT department) to protect the databases as well as possible against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or falsification.
With regard to data security, we take appropriate technical and organisational security precautions to protect your personal data from unauthorised access and misuse, such as SSL encryption for the transmission of data.

Although the Military Liaison Office (MilVrb HSG) of the University of St.Gallen HSG takes every care to ensure the accuracy of the information published, no guarantee can be given with regard to the correctness, accuracy, up-to-dateness, reliability and completeness of this information.
