In so doing, HSG ideally complements and completes the existing circle of researchers thanks to its focus on impact-oriented cutting-edge research," SFI writes in a media release.

"Further expanding our international position"

"Financial research is one of the top priorities at HSG, which is why we are very much looking forward to our collaboration with SFI, says Prof. Dr. Thomas Zellweger, Vice-Rector Research & Faculty at the University of St.Gallen. This collaboration will help us to further expand our internationally significant position in this field." Prof. François Degeorge, Managing Director of the Swiss Finance Institute, adds: "Our goal is to bring together within our finance faculty the best academic minds teaching and conducting research at Swiss universities. With the University of St.Gallen joining our ranks, we gain additional expertise and skills, which allows us to further strengthen the academic foundations of the Swiss financial center."

The Swiss Finance Institute and the University of St.Gallen plan to operationally launch their collaboration during the spring of 2022, with the first HSG professors joining SFI as "Faculty Members" during the same period.
