Our world is facing severe social, ecological and economic challenges which are interdependent and accumulate to a polycrisis. Solving these issues requires new innovative approaches and collaborative action. The NextGen Sustainability Mentoring aims to provide a platform to mutually inspire and empower the changemakers of today and tomorrow. Whether you are a sustainability professional or a student interested in future-positive careers – welcome to the NextGen Sustainability Mentoring Collaboration!
The NextGen Sustainability Mentoring Collaboration aims to promote integrative thought leadership and responsible action. It fosters the informal transfer of knowledge, relationship building, critical thinking, and professional excellence to tackle the polycrisis. This joint initiative by the HSG Mentoring Programme and the HSG Responsibility & Sustainability Team aims to enable students to realise their personal and professional potential in contributing to positive change in a world of finite resources and planetary boundaries.
Mentors are invited to register between June and August. Students can apply as mentees in September. Please create your mentoring profile on the official online platform and share your personal motivation, expectations and wishes for a NextGen Sustainability mentoring relationship. Please explicitly indicate sustainability as a special interest within the HSG mentor/mentee questionnaire.
After the matching process in October, mentors and mentees are being informed about matching outcome. Mentees are invited to contact their mentor to start their transformative learning journey. This process allows intergenerational exchange and mutual learning. Mentors and mentees have the opportunity to further connect during special events such as the NextGen Impact Career Roundtable, among other options to engage in the field of sustainability within the HSG ecosystem and beyond.
NextGen Mentoring is a collaboration between the HSG Mentoring Programme and the Delegate’s Team for Responsibility & Sustainability. Since 2020, the programme development has been supported by WWF Switzerland, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Switzerland (SDSN), ECOnnect, and the HSG Sustainability Alumni Club.
