Institutes, Research Centres and Chairs
The members of the SoM are involved in numerous institutes, faculties, and centres.
The institutes are connected to the HSG financially, conceptually and in terms of personnel; the responsible directors come from our professoriate. The institutes nevertheless operate as largely autonomous bodies that are operated like businesses. They are particularly active in the areas of research, further education and services, and in advising businesses and government departments.
The HSG institutes play a leading role in training new researchers. They train institute staff at the interface between academia and the professional world. In turn, this precisely promotes the founding of spin-off companies from our environments.
