Many students experience academic writing as challenging. Our mission therefore is to develop new teaching methods, learning tools and writing resources. We also offer special events and workshops on specific aspects of academic writing and provide individual support.

Our Tuesday Writing Helpdesk ( 17-19) offers short consultations (ca. 10-15 mins).

We offer workshops in German and English on selected aspects of academic writing (e.g. citation and paraphrasing, developing a research question, argumentation, avoiding plagiarism). .

We offer information on different academic wiriting related topics and individual counselling sessions on the Night of Writing Skills on October 24th, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm online and in the HSG Library. Writing your PhD, but not alone!
In cooperation with the Early Career Programme, we organize PhD writing groups where participants meet once a week during the semester to work on their thesis.
Writing as a part of teaching
Many students experience academic writing as complex. Coursework, however, often leaves little time to develop students' writing skills.
The HSG Writing Lab (Centre for Acadmeic Writing) therefore provides tailored support: teaching materials, workshops on specific aspects of academic writing, and individual consultations. Email us to discuss your needs.
