Sustainability on campus

In 2024, solar panels on the HSG campus produced 404,880 kWh of clean electricity. This covers over 21 per cent of the HSG's energy needs.

The certificate programmes ‘Managing Climate Solutions’ (Master's) and ‘Integrative Sustainability Management’ (Bachelor's) offer students specialisations in the field of sustainability. From autumn semester 2026, the international programme Global Sustainability Management will complement the range of courses on offer.

HSG is part of the Circular Lab. In this lab, 6 universities and 30 companies are researching concepts for the circular economy.

Around 60 plant species grow on the HSG campus. The in-house gardeners emphasise the promotion of biodiversity and native flora. The HSG campus is certified for its nature-orientated design.

Around 290 scientific publications related to sustainability.
