21 October 2015. Money, images, war and sharing – these are big issues for children and will remain with them all their lives. This year's Children’s University will devote an afternoon lecture of 45 minutes to each of these topics. In an entertaining and stimulating manner, the four lectures will introduce children from the third class upwards to these issues, which the professors at the University of St.Gallen explore in their own research.

Four unrelated lectures

The children will learn about the secrets of money from Prof. Dr. Martin Brown, and Prof. Dr. Martin Eppler will tell them about the power of images. Also, children will hear more about the war in Ukraine from Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid. Prof. Dr. Antoinette Weibel will tell the pupils why sharing makes people happy. These unrelated lectures will enable the children to follow an issue even if they are only able to attend one single afternoon.

Scenting university air
The Children's University aims to familiarise the HSG's youngest audience with issues that are relevant to society in addition to what they are taught at school. The children will be given an exciting insight into the University, which many pupils will themselves attend in ten, fifteen years. The Children’s University is part of the public programme of the University of St.Gallen; admission is free. However, registration is required. Each child will receive an HSG ID card. At the end of the lecture series, pupils who have attended all four lectures will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
