Is the grain agreement between Russia and Ukraine on the brink?

A year ago, Russia and Ukraine signed a grain agreement. This agreement provides for guarantees for Ukrainian grain exports via the Black Sea. As Ukraine is one of the world's leading exporters of agricultural products, the agreement has a significant impact on food prices and supply security in global markets. However, the agreement is set to expire again on July 17, 2023, and Russia appears reluctant to extend it. Professor Dr. Reto Föllmi assesses the situation in an interview.
