Organisational Studies and Cultural Theory (MOK):

The Ph.D. programme in Organisational Studies and Cultural Theory is an interdisciplinary and internationally-oriented course of study, with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences leading the way.

The University of St.Gallen took on the task of Bologna Reform compliance even in the early stages, including at the Ph.D. level. An interdisciplinary PhD. programme in Organisational Studies and Cultural Theory (DOK) has also emerged.

The programme is interdisciplinary, internationally-oriented and systematically integrates the Core Studies and Context Studies pillars of the HSG. The basic premise of the programme is that many of today’s problems are, at the root, cultural. These cultural premises of social processes and organisations provide the key for analysing and understanding present-day problems as well as the economic and social challenges of the future.

The programme is proven highly popular. Launched in 2007, the DOK programme currently has over 90 active graduate students.
