HSG is one of the leading business universities in Europe. In line with our mission “Empowering talents, inspiring leaders”, we endeavour to attract outstanding students to St.Gallen. Besides talent we expect engagement, initiative and responsibility. At St.Gallen, we are proud of the above-average extracurricular engagement of our students and alumni. This programme is being launched in Autumn Semester 2026 with at least 16 talents and, with support from our sponsors, is set to expand to 45 talents per year (each autumn).
In general, all students from EU/EFTA countries (including holders of a Swiss C-permit) who are admitted to a Master's programme at HSG (criteria) can apply. To have a good chance of securing one of these prestigous slots, you need excellent grades and a demonstrated engagement beyond your studies. In addition, the selection process looks for a proven sense of responsibility (towards society, the economy and the environment) and a diversity of perspectives. Finally, we expect our Best Talents to promote and support future Best Talents after completing their studies, in the spirit of a strong alumni community.
Once your admission to HSG and a specific Master programme has been confirmed, please select on this page the option “Apply for Best Talents Programme” (activation November 2025) and submit the additional application documents. The heads of our Master's programmes will then nominate candidates from their respective programmes. This ensures that the Best Talents Programme supports all fields of study. A qualified, independent and diverse committee then makes the final selection. Awards are made on an ongoing basis.
By offering the Best Talents programme, we support talented and committed students from Switzerland and Europe (EU/EFTA, including holders of a Swiss C-permit), who have completed a Bachelor's degree, in further developing their potential. As part of the programme, participants benefit from:
The HSG Best Talents Programme is made possible by the commitment of dedicated partners from business and society, who work alongside HSG to promote academic excellence and targeted talent development. Thanks to their support, we are able to offer selected students not only financial support but also a high-quality personal development programme and valuable networking opportunities. Detailed information and insights into the engagement of our funding partners are available directly from the HSG Foundation.
