Why is strategy, rather than products, the key determinant of a company's market position? How can analytics be used effectively, or is artificial intelligence better suited for the task? And what does it take to launch a start-up and propel it to unicorn status? The MGM is one of the most prestigious management master’s programmes worldwide, offering insights into these critical questions and more.
You will acquire essential management skills and develop your personal impact to address the economic and societal challenges of our time:
We place great emphasis on your personal development and strengthen your leadership qualities in sustainable corporate management. With the support of the globally connected HSG community, you will unlock your full potential through Managerial Impact Projects and by tackling the Grand Challenges of Business & Society.
Our Master’s programme focuses on addressing current and future challenges in sustainable corporate management. The conceptual approach is built on three interconnected levels:
Level 1: Building the Foundation
To establish a unified understanding of core disciplines in corporate management, students complete nine courses covering topics such as entrepreneurship, strategy, finance and management accounting, leadership, business and data analytics, and personal development.
Level 2: Broadening Perspectives
Building on this solid foundation, students can apply and deepen their skills by taking Advanced General Management Courses, electives from the programme itself or other Master’s programmes at the University of St.Gallen (HSG), and contextual studies courses that explore subjects outside of the economic sciences.
Level 3: Delivering Results
The final level focuses on the practical application of acquired knowledge. Students tackle a real-world business challenge through a Managerial Impact Project, address at least one Grand Challenge of Business & Society, and complete a Master’s thesis.
The programme has a standard duration of three semesters and requires the completion of 90 credits.
Are you a dedicated individual who approaches complex challenges in an interdisciplinary, creative, and holistic manner, aiming to develop sustainable solutions?
