President and Vice-Presidents re-elected for four more years

At the request of the Senate, the Board of Governors re-elected the President and the Vice-Presidents of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) at the beginning of September. The St.Gallen government has now also approved the re-election of the President.

President Prof. Manuel Ammann and the Vice-Presidents Prof. Barbara Weber (Studies and Academic Affairs) Prof. Reto Föllmi (Institutes and Executive Education), Prof. Dietmar Grichnik (Innovation and Quality) and Prof. Klaus Möller (Research and Faculty), have been re-elected for another regular term of office. In accordance with the revised University of St.Gallen Act and Statutes, this term is now four years (2026-2030) instead of two as it was previously. While the Vice-Presidents are elected by the University Council, the election of the President had to be finally approved by the St.Gallen government.

Recognition for previous work

"We are delighted that the current President’s Board is standing for another term of office and will continue its successful work," said Zeno Staub, president of the Board of Governors. "The Board of Governors recognises their achievements so far and the great commitment of the current President’s Board to the qualitative development of the University. We are confident that the current team will successfully guide HSG towards its ambitious goals." The goals and initiatives set by the President’s Board are described in the recently published Strategic Plan 2030. Bettina Surber, member of the Government of the Canton of St.Gallen and also a member of the Board of Governors, is equally confident: "HSG is on the right track and I believe that the re-elected President’s Board will lead HSG successfully into the future."

The permanent members of the President's Board Stephanie Bernet (Interim Secretary General), Bruno Hensler (Administrative Director), and Marc Meyer (Secretary for Academic Affairs) did not need to be re-elected.
