The halving initiative calls for public radio and television licence fees to be reduced from CHF 335 to CHF 200. This would result in radical job cuts at SRG. The Swiss media system as a whole would also be affected. This evening's discussion will focus in particular on the consequences of the initiative for the media's financing crisis – and how it fits into the attacks by right-wing populist parties on public media in numerous European countries.
