We were deeply saddened to learn that Walter Krieg passed away at the age of 84, in the presence of his family.
Walter Krieg was inextricably linked to the St.Gallen Management Model and his fundamentally new understanding of business management.Together with Prof. Dr. Hans Ulrich, he designed a structure at the Institute of Business Administration in the early 1970s that would fundamentally shape research and teaching at the HSG and become the starting point for further management models. Walter Krieg was a pioneer of a holistic view of corporate activity. His work continues to contribute today to competently addressing the complex challenges of a difficult economic, social, environmental, and political environment.
Walter Krieg has not only developed his extensive knowledge and communication skills in an academic environment, but has also successfully applied them in business practice. His advice was always sought after because he was able to identify the big picture and develop innovative solutions.
We bow our heads in respect for his significant lifetime achievements. The University of St.Gallen and the School of Management remember him with great gratitude.
