HSG offers its first MOOC

As part of a pilot project, the Institute for Accounting, Control and Auditing (ACA-HSG) has developed a German-language Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). The course, “Financial Management for Non-business Professionals”, starts 13 June 2016. Participation is free.

17 May 2016. The course is designed to provide a concise overview of the most important tools for the financial management of companies for professionals without a business administration background. It includes modules in the areas of accounting and bookkeeping, cost accounting and controlling, finance and investment and corporate governance. The online course explores relationships, demonstrates control parameters for successful development and considers practical answers. MOOC registration is available at

The course includes 31 tutorial videos totaling four hours and divided into five learning units. At the end of each unit, participants will be asked specific questions about what they learned in an interactive, playful way. Participants can make contact among themselves and with lecturers Tami Dinh, Peter Leibfried, Klaus Möller, Flemming Ruud, Dirk Schäfer and Michèle F. Sutter-Rüdisser via the course forum.

The course runs from 13 June to 25 July. Enrollment is open now on the course website. The conclusion of the course includes a voluntary exam. Participation is free.
