The FCAB advises the Federal Council and the departments on matters affecting consumers. One such matter is the new law on communication platforms and search engines, which is currently under consultation. The Commission’s legally enshrined objective is to provide information to consumers about new regulations.

Désirée Klingler is Assistant Professor of Public Law at the University of St.Gallen (HSG). She was sought out for and complements the Commission with her expertise and interdisciplinary approach to public law, particularly concerning issues relating to the digitalization of public administrations.

"I look forward to hearing consumers' concerns and advising the Federal Council and the departments on important legislative proposals in this area, such as communication platforms and climate protection," says Klingler.
