This consulting service is led by Profs. Emanuel de Bellis, Andreas Herrmann, and Michael Lechner. The team comprises the following five experts.
Hugo Bodory deals with the implementation of IT infrastructure. He consults on Cloud Computing for usage of virtual machines, for example SWITCHengines (www.switch.ch). He also advises on the use of software for data analysis. Hugo is a research associate for Data and Method Consulting, with a focus on «Data Analysis». He does research on the development of new econometric methods at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research.
Hugo Bodory, Enzo Brox, and Carina Steckenleiter are the consultants for econometric methods. They advise on data analysis using, for example, linear and non-linear regression models, semi-parametric and non-parametric estimation methods, and machine learning tools. Another focus of their consultancy is on research designs with the goal of causal inference. Enzo and Carina are postdocs at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research. They deal with economic research questions and evaluate both administrative and experimental data using state-of-the-art analysis methods. Daniel Dietrich advises on the design and implementation of qualitative research methods. His main areas of expertise are related to interview-based studies, focus groups, grounded theory, ethnographic and netnogaphic methods, case study research, as well as practice theory. He is Senior Lecturer in the fields of Marketing and Management at the University of St. Gallen and teaches both method and business courses at Bachelor and Master level. His own research focuses on topics surrounding brand management, consumer studies, and behavioral economics.
Emanuel de Bellis advises on quantitative research methods in business administration, including the analysis of primary data (e.g., online surveys, laboratory experiments, A/B testing) and secondary data (already existing and frequently large datasets). He is Associate Professor of Empirical Research Methods at the Institute of Behavioral Science and Technology (IBT-HSG) and Academic Co-Director of the Global School in Empirical Research Methods (GSERM). At the University of St. Gallen, Emanuel de Bellis teaches various method courses at Bachelor, Master, and PhD level as well as in executive education.
