Kausch Prize 2012 goes to Scheer Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer is named winner of the Dr. Kausch Prize 2012 at the University of St.Gallen (HSG). HSG will present the award to Scheer at a public ceremony on 21 February 2013. 7 January 2013. Scheer receives the award for his contributions to integrating accounting and business-information systems. Scheer was born in 1941 and obtained his doctorate at the University of Hamburg in 1971. He wrote his habilitation thesis in business economics in 1974, also in Hamburg. In 1990, he received an honorary professorship at the University of Vienna. He was named consulting professor at Tongji University in Shanghai in 1995 and at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. Scheer also founded the international software and consulting company IDS Scheer AG in 1984 and developed it into one of Germany’s biggest IT companies. Today, he is consulting professor at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) at Saarland University. The Dr. Kausch Prize has been awarded annually since 1984 for extraordinary achievements in research and practice in the field of financial and industrial accounting. HSG will present the award to Scheer at a public ceremony on 21 February 2013.
