New Industrial Policy Observatory (NIPO)

The New Industrial Policy Observatory (NIPO) database was created by the Global Trade Alert (GTA) team led by Prof. Dr. Simon Evenett from the University of St.Gallen. NIPO records government measures that have been announced or implemented globally since the beginning of 2023 and goes beyond the GTA database in analysing industrial policy interventions. In a paper authored by Simon Evenett and Fernando Martín from the GTA team, along with Adam Jakubik and Michele Ruta from the International Monetary Fund, the initial dataset for 2023 is examined.
