What is capitalism? Most people would describe it as a free-market economy. However, this description fails to explain the turbulent and successive crises we have been living through. And it also prevents us from tackling one of the most important questions of our time: What is wrong with capitalism, and how can we fix it?
Jürg Müller and an anonymous co-author answer these questions in their new book "Capitalism and the Market Economy". Join us for an evening where Jürg Müller will present their fascinating thinking first-hand and engage with questions from the audience.
Jürg Müller is the director of Avenir Suisse. He holds two B.A. from the University of St. Gallen, an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich. In his research, he investigated the impact of banking on macroeconomic stability. Jürg Müller worked as an economics editor at Neue Zürcher Zeitung before he joined Avenir Suisse. He is a lecturer at the economics faculty of the University of Zurich and has published the book "The End of Banking", which has been translated into several languages.
