HSG team remains unbeaten

Unlike at the Euro in France, there were no surprises at the traditional invitation football tournament of Unisport this year. The side made up of HSG members also won the eighth run of the tournament on the HSG’s artificial turf – a flawless record.

29 June 2016. Although only a minimum number of players turned up, the HSG team did not concede one goal to the Rotmonten District Association, reinforced by players from the junior squad of FC Rotmonten (2-0), the FC Cantonal Parliament (4-0) and the SC Municipal Parliament (3-0). This record of the well-scoring and well-coordinated team coached by Marius Hasenböhler-Backes is also due to the faultless performance of goalkeeper Gesa Jürgens, who did not let one ball pass through the goalposts in all three matches. The Rotmonten District Association got the better of both politicians’ teams with a 2-0 victory in each case but lost against the HSG members with the same result.

Municipal parliamentarians kept their nerve

The encounter between the FC Cantonal Parliament and the SC Municipal Parliament turned out to be exciting. After full time, the result was a 2-2 draw. In the penalty shoot-out, the municipal parliamentarians kept their cool more effectively and scored better than their cantonal colleagues, winning the penalty shoot-out 4-2.
