HSG presents itself at the OFFA

From the Library to the Children’s University and to virtual reality: the University of St.Gallen is again represented at the OFFA with a varied programme this year.

The University of St.Gallen (HSG) will take part in this year's 41st Spring and Trend Fair (OFFA) from 19-23 April 2017. Visitors will be able to experience the University Library at first hand, at a stand that simulates library business. The HSG librarians will present their public services such as lending, research, consultancy and the lecture series "The other book at the Uni".

For young and old

At its stand, the University will also present the Children's University and its public lectures, which were offered for the first time in 1898. Today, the general public are able to choose from among approx. 40 lectures ranging from economic sciences, sociology and politics to art, language, literature and psychology. The lecture programme changes every six months. More than a decade ago, the programme was supplemented by the Children’s University. Thanks to an attendance that had been growing year by year, 2016 turned out to be a record year with more than 2,200 pupils listening to the four Children's University lectures.

Insight into research for the first time

Since spring 2016, the University of St.Gallen's Behavioral Lab has provided students and researchers with a platform for experimental research. Besides 20 computer stations, a mirror room and an eye tracker, experiments can also be conducted with the help of virtual reality. At the OFFA stand of the University of St.Gallen, you will thus have an opportunity to immerse yourself in a virtual world.
