18 February 2013. HSG’s Career Services Center and the student organizing team will bring more than 100 regional, national and global companies to St. Gallen for the HSG Talents Conference.

A panel discussion open to the public will focus on the future of our economic prosperity. Can we increase it steadily and at will as we have up until now, or have we crossed the line already? Is it possible to continue with increasing speed or will the high-speed economy go off the rails? Are we facing a turning point, where the desire for more quality of life transcends the aspiration for quantity, where less is more? This discussion will be from 6:15-8 p.m. on 26 February at the Audimax (09-010). Panelists are:

  • David Bosshart (CEO of the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute and author of “The Age of Less”
  • Monika Bütler (Professor for Economics at the University of St.Gallen)
  • Christian Casal (CEO of McKinsey & Company Switzerland)
  • Oswald Grübel (former CEO of UBS and Credit Suisse)
  • Paul Rechsteiner (Council of States and president of the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions)
  • Moderator: Pascal Ihle (deputy chief editor in chief of Handelszeitung)

Workshops, interviews and career advice

Guests also include CEOs such as Thomas Metzger of Feldschlösschen. Between semester start on 18 February and the beginning of the HSG Talents Conference, the Career Services Center (CSC-HSG) will offer interested students specific preparation for the fair. Topics include reviewing and editing applications, interview training and preparation for fair attendance.

From 4 March on, HSG Talents Conference 2013 interview days will be held on Mondays and Fridays. The aim of the interviews is to find suitable candidates for company vacancies. Students can enter their résumés beforehand on Career Services Center’s new career platform (www.hsgcareer.ch) and apply for interviews with companies they are interested in. The companies will then invite potential candidates for an interview.
