About the Gallus anniversary

1,400 years ago, the Irish itinerant monk Gallus settled in what is now Eastern Switzerland. The impact of his work extends right up to the present day. Gallus and his successors laid the foundation for everything for which the city of St. Gallen stands to this day: the abbey with its library, the university, art, culture and innovation in the field of the textile industry.
