17 Nobel Prize winners at the HSG

22 August 2011. The Nobel Prize winners and the young economists will be gathering on Lake Constance in order to discuss the future of economics as a discipline, the sustainability of health and old-age systems, as well as the future development of labour markets. They were nominated by an international network that includes not only universities and research institutes, but also 44 national central banks and the Bank for International Settlements. The Lindau Meetings are a unique forum for the dialogue between generations of economists – above and beyond culture or nationality.

Final address by Wolfgang Schäuble

The final discussion of the Laureate Meetings will take place on Saturday, 27 August 2011 from 10 a.m. in the Audimax of the HSG’s Library Building. The topic will be “From Financial to Debt Crisis – Financial Markets, Monetary Policy and Public Debt”. The panellists will be Robert A. Mundell, Roger B. Myerson, Myron S. Scholes, William F. Sharpe and William R. White. The discussion will be chaired by Martin Hellwig. Wolfgang Schäuble, Germany’s Federal Finance Minister, will give the final address.

Journalists have to accredit themselves

The final discussion of the 4th Nobel Laureate Meetings at the University of St.Gallen is not open to the public, but journalists are cordially welcome. However, they will have to accredit themselves (cf. link in the PDF with media invitation).
