New ideas for the market

The development and consequences of new business models for the economy will be discussed by HSG researchers and extramural guests at St.Gallen’s Radisson Blu Hotel on 29 April 2011 from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

20 April 2011. The Business Innovation Day will take place for the third time in 2011. The organiser of the discussion platform for HSG members and extramural guests from trade and industry, politics and academia is the Profile Area Business Innovation of the University of St.Gallen, in which researchers from different institutes and research centres create a close linkage between academia and practice.

Lecture topics and speakers

In the course of the Business Innovation Day, Prof. Dr. Dietmar Harhoff, Director of the Institute of Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship of Munich’s Ludwig Maximilian University will speak about “Intrapreneurship”. Jürg Bucher, CEO of the Swiss Post will focus on “Postal services in two worlds – physical and electronic” and provide information about innovation management in his logistics group. Dr. Heiner Geissler, a former German federal minister, will talk about “New intelligence in the economy and in politics”. Joachim Schoss, social entrepreneur and founder of Scout24 and MyHandicap, will speak about “Innovations in start-ups”. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle, the Head of the Profile Area, will chair the event.

Awards for researchers

On the occasion of the Business Innovation Day, HSG researchers will receive awards for excellent contributions to the development of the Profile Area. Awards will be given in the three categories of academia, practice and public relations. Up-and-coming researchers will be given a special award. The prize winners will introduce their research projects in brief presentations.
