Universität St.Gallen

9 March 2010. In her book, she tells the story of two young women who travel through Europe in the mid-19th century. One of them performs a freak show as a “monkey woman”, the other exaggerates the abnormality of a variety star as a beautiful dancer.

The reading is part of a series of events entitled “The other book at the Uni”, in the course of which the HSG Library invites the general public to readings twice a year. Admission is free of charge.

Margrit Schriber was born in Lucerne in 1939 as a faith healer’s daughter. She grew up in Brunnen and Küssnacht am Rigi. Through the detours of bank clerk, accountant, fashion model and photographic model, she reached the goal she had had in mind from the start: to become a writer. Today she lives in Zofingen and in the French Dordogne.
