Honorary doctorate for Torsten Tomczak

Torsten Tomczak, professor of business administration with a particular focus on marketing at the University of St. Gallen, has been awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of Lucerne.

13 November 2019. The Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Lucerne has honoured Torsten Tomczak with an honorary doctorate in recognition of his internationally renowned work in the areas of marketing and management. His involvement ranges from the highest level of academic research and practical contributions on questions of current economic debates to the assumption of entrepreneurial responsibility. Since the start of his academic career, he has been engaged in a convincing dialogue between theory and practice, expressing his deep conviction that a functioning economy requires broad-based and constructive discussion.

Torsten Tomczak is rightly regarded as one of the most influential economists and marketing experts in Switzerland, whose expertise is always sought after in debates concerning the economy. As a pioneer in the area of company and management market orientation, he has given the economy a valuable boost and shaped public discussion.
