PhD Programme in Management accredited In February, the University of St. Gallen received recognition from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) for two quality achievements, namely, the accreditation of its PhD Programme in Management and the renewal of its Business School Impact label. The comprehensive review processes were conducted by expert teams, who confirmed the University’s excellence as benchmarked against international standards. 8 March 2021. The University is one of the first institutions to receive the EFMD’s new Programme Accreditation. The peer review covered all facets of PhD Programme in Management’s provision: from its institutional, national and international environment, through its design, delivery, outcomes and impacts, to its quality assurance processes. In conclusion, the Peer Review Team stated that the Programme is in many ways remarkable: “It is highly selective, provides quality training in both theoretical and applied research and has chosen a distinctive mode for the organisation of studies, with the possibility of combining demanding scientific work and deep involvement in practice. Its graduates are eagerly sought after on the employment market, either in academia and or in the professional world”. Business School Impact System (BSIS) The Business School Impact System (BSIS) scheme is designed to determine the extent of a school’s impact upon its local environment – the city or region in which it is located. The impact of the University is analysed based on the seven areas of impact: financial, educational, business development impact as well as intellectual, societal, image and impact within the regional ecosystem. There are currently 53 schools across 17 countries that have received the BSIS label. The Peer Review Team confirmed the University’s exceptional on-going commitment and contribution to impact optimisation and stated that: “The positive results proved the institution’s significant position as a leading European business school and its diversified presence in the local, regional and international markets”.
