swissnex visits the HSG

19 March 2014. swissnex has been linking Swiss academia and trade and industry with experts and institutions throughout the world for 14 years. Today, the network operates with representations in the US, India, Singapore, Brazil and China. In the German-language panel discussion on “Perspectives for Global Cooperation in Innovation”, the heads of the five hubs will report on their work and the development of new projects.

Participants in the discussion will be HSG President Thomas Bieger, Prof. Dr. Thomas Friedli (Institute of Technology Management at the HSG), Prof. Dr. Rolf Wüstenhagen (Institute for Economy and the Environment, HSG) and the swissnex CEOs Dr. Felix Moesner (Boston), Gioia Deucher (Brazil) and Dr. Balz Strasser (India). HSG Vice-President Ulrike Landfester will moderate the discussion.

The hubs work in a variety of scientific fields. Water technology is a focal point of networking activities in China. The representation in Singapore regularly unites health experts at public expert meetings. swissnex Boston promotes young entrepreneurs and brings together start-ups with mentors and investors at VentureLeaders Bootcamp. The hub in San Francisco organises social media education trips for communication specialists in Silicon Valley. A joint project of all the hubs is the Digital Campus, which pursues various initiatives to promote the use of social media in the education sector.

The network is run by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation in the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research. The initiative is supported by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Subsequent to the panel discussion, there will be an opportunity for an exchange of views and ideas during a stand-up lunch at 12.15 p.m. at the invitation of the HSG.
