HSG holds top ten spot in FT ranking

For the second year in a row, the international business newspaper The Financial Times has placed the University of St.Gallen (HSG) 7th in its 2013 European Business Schools Ranking, which makes it the top business school in Switzerland. <br/>

2 December 2013. The HSG has been recognized by The Financial Times (FT) as an elite business school for the second time consecutively, placing it in the top ten. Holding down the seventh position, the HSG also has the honor of being the leading business university in Switzerland and the number one German-speaking business University.

Five of the top ten schools on the FT list, including the HSG, are members of the CEMS Global Alliance ‒ an alliance of academic and corporate institutions dedicated to educating and preparing future generations of global business through the CEMS Master’s in International Management.

“We are privileged to again be recognized as one of the top business universities in Europe,” said Professor Dr. Thomas Bieger, rector of the HSG and chairman of CEMS. “Our focus of being a thought leader, embracing the principals of a truly international education and providing students with the cutting-edge knowledge they need to succeed makes the HSG a small but powerful force on the European business school scene.” Rankings along with student feedback and research are some of the indicators that universities like the HSG find useful for maintaining a high level of quality.

“The ranking reflects the all-around strength of the programmes at the HSG,” said Professor Dr. Winfried Ruigrok the dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology & Law at the HSG. “All of our programme areas have contributed to this positive result, making the HSG a leader in business education.”

Since 1898, the University of St.Gallen has been one of Europe’s leading business universities. Located in eastern Switzerland, the University offers degrees and executive education at the highest international level. With over 7,500 students the school offers degrees in Business Administration, Economics, Law, Social Sciences and International Affairs, not to mention MBA and EMBA executive education programmes.
