8 October 2012. The author and Professor of Communication and Media Management at the HSG, Miriam Meckel, the thriller writer Michael Theurillat and the novelist Markus A. Will have made the economy an issue in their fiction and essays. On four evenings, they will read from their books. They will debate with the audience whether economic matters are sufficiently interesting and exciting for novels.

On 15 October, Markus A. Will will introduce the audience to the topic and ask whether the general public should know more about the economy since economic concerns have a significant impact on our lives. A week later, on 22 October, the former Managing Director of UBS, Michael Theurillat, will read from his novels about the chasms of the Swiss financial system. On 29 October, there will be a debate between the audience and Markus A. Will, who will read excerpts from his works about the financial and currency crises. Finally, on 5 November, Miriam Meckel will read from her critical analysis “Next – eine Erinnerung an eine Zukunft”.

The readings will start at 8.15 p.m. and take place in the Restaurant Gentile in St.Gallen’s Vadianstrasse.
