8 October 2012. Lake Constance unites people – even across national borders. To reinforce cooperation along these lines and to extend international competitiveness, about 30 universities from Germany, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland joined forces to establish the Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule (IBH).

Impulses for the region
The alliance provides a joint university area for students, researchers and entrepreneurs across national borders. It improves the regional education opportunities by promoting new curricula to be taught jointly and across borders. In addition, the IBH makes the region attractive to highly qualified experts, extends the possibilities of jointly used infrastructures and links up the universities’ organisational units. Faculty members exchange knowledge and ideas and exploit synergies.

Project poster at the HSG
The alliance supports projects which are pursued together by at least two universities from different countries in the region. The IBH will present the current cooperation ventures in the Foyer of the HSG’s Library Building in the second week of October. On show are posters regarding cooperation ventures in the fields of energy, health and social affairs. Focal topics include mobility, demography and location development in the Lake Constance region.
