Doctor’s Degree Award Ceremony
On 20 February 2012, President Thomas Bieger awarded 51 doctor’s degrees at the award ceremony, among them 38 in the field of economic sciences. He spoke about the increasing divide between the requirements in practice and in research in the economic and social sciences.
21 February 2012. In the solemn framework of the award ceremony, 51 graduates received their doctor’s degrees from Thomas Bieger. 38 were in economic sciences, six in law, four in social science and three in political science.
In his ceremonial address, President Thomas Bieger spoke about the increasing divide between the requirements in practice and in research in the economic and social sciences.
The musical accompaniment for the ceremony was provided by the saxophone ensemble of the Cantonal School at Burggraben St.Gallen. The welcoming addresses to graduates and guests were given by Dr. Martin Huser, Vice-President of HSG Alumni, and Dr. Hans-Peter Zehnder, Zehnder Group AG.
