Marketing quiz on Facebook

The Institute of Marketing of the University of St.Gallen (IfM-HSG) has put up a challenge on Facebook in the form of a quiz. The winners will be awarded a virtual marketing diploma.

15 July 2011. What does the abbreviation SWOT stand for? What is an ABC analysis? What factors have an adverse effect on customer loyalty? Anyone who would like to participate may answer questions such as these on the Facebook page of the Institute of Marketing of the University of St.Gallen (IfM-HSG). The knowledge test provides participants with information about the latest developments in the field of marketing.

Virtual marketing diploma

Participants can choose between four answers to every question. If they answer more than half of the questions correctly, they will be awarded a virtual marketing diploma, will be able to enter their results in the leaderboard and on their Facebook pinwall. “Instead of marketing classics, the test exclusively asks questions about current concepts and slogans which are also the subject of executive education courses offered by the Institute,” says Prof. Dr. Marcus Schögel.

Social media in research and executive education

The Institute of Marketing has been present in the Facebook network since November 2010. The Institute’s academics also deal with social networks such as Facebook in their research. In cooperation with partners who are practitioners, the researchers of the IfM-HSG have published numerous publications concerning the topic of “interactive marketing”. In an intensive seminar with the same name, the IFM-HSG teaches executives specific online possibilities for corporate communication.
