16 February 2011. The first “Gründergarage” will take place from 22 February to 17 March in the HSG Main Building and will feature an exchange of ideas and experience. The first “HSG Founder of the Year” will be presented during the concluding event on 17 March.

Practice and academia
The HSG Business Incubator supports the preparation and execution of innovative and knowledge-intensive start-ups, particularly by students and academics of the University of St.Gallen. It combines expertise from practical experience and up-to-date academic research. In addition, it has a wide network of regional, national and international partners, which support the implementation of business ideas.

“An important pillar”
The “Gründergarage” is the Business Incubator’s biggest project to date. For four weeks, projects by and for company founders will be presented in a “garage” situated in the Foyer of the HSG Main Building – a reference to the many start-ups that took shape in garages. “Entrepreneurship is an important pillar of the HSG,” says Prof. Dr. DietmarGrichnik. “In the ‘Gründergarage’, we would like to make the University’s start-up culture visible, and to present and encourage it.”
