Retail talents wanted

During the Retail Talent Career Days from 4-6 June 2009 in Mallorca, a case study of practical relevance will familiarize participants with career options in the retail trade.

English-language recruiting event
Questions like this are likely to exercise the brains of up-and-coming retail trade talents during the fourth round of the Retail Talent Career Days from 4-6 June 2009. Students who will obtain their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees this year and are aiming at a career in retailing can apply for the English-language recruiting event.

The competition is organized by the Retail Lab, an initiative of the Institute for Retail Management at the University of St.Gallen. Interested students can apply until 30 April 2009.

Participation of different retail companies
During the two-day recruiting event on Mallorca, students will learn how the participating enterprises ply their trade. To date, the event has profited from the participation of retail companies such as Tchibo, Migros and Valora. A case study of practical relevance will familiarize participants with career options in the retail trade.

They will present their findings to the corporate partners of the University of St.Gallen’s Retail Lab. Participation will be subject to qualification on the strength of a letter of motivation and course work / examination results. A very good command of the English language is another prerequisite for participation. In addition, candidates should be highly ambitious, have a great interest in retailing, and provide evidence of exceptional course work / examination results.
