Today's managers are confronted with numerous technological innovations. The risk they take when investing in such innovations also depends on how much they think they know about how they work. In a new study, Prof. Dr. Martin Eppler and Christian Muntwiler from the Institute for Media and Communications Management at the HSG have investigated whether managers overestimate their knowledge of technology and what effects this has on their willingness to take risks. They were also able to show how managers can better correct their knowledge bias.
