In times of digitization of research and in the spirit of Open Science the Library of the University of St.Gallen supports researchers in using data and other digital objects and in making their research results, such as publications and research data, highly visible and accessible. Here is an overview of our services.
We can support you with access to unlicensed data for research projects. We will negotiate for you with data providers and check for you the contract language as well as the Terms of Use. Funding needs to be provided via your research budget. We accompany the process for you from the first contact with data providers to the conclusion of the contract, payment and data delivery.
If you have any questions about this offer, please contact searchandfind@unisg.ch.
Even if it may seem that anything can be done with the data provided by the library, there are unfortunately limits set by the license conditions of the providers.
We can advise you on how to use licensed products in accordance with the terms & conditions:
We can offer access to two platforms that give you access to newspaper articles from national and international press that can be used for TDM projects.
Furthermore, we can clarify for you if and how access to big data can be obtained for other products that we are licensing.
Do you have questions about any of these points? Contact us: searchandfind@unisg.ch.
