Inclusive Language

The University of St.Gallen is committed to non-discriminatory language. This means using respectful and inclusive language.

The attached inlusive language guides explain the importance of incluisve language and provide practical advice on how best to use equitable and gender-inclusive language. The HSG guide, which you will find in German, has been prepared based on the University's Vision and Code of Conduct and in collaboration with HSG staff ans students.

APA is the international citation standard in the social sciences and economics. Its motto is “Write with Clarity, Precision, and Inclusion.” Its guidelines on inclusive and respectful language, and on doing justice to all types of diversity, are set out on the APA website and in Chapter 5 of the 7^th edition of the APA Manual.
