Teaching

Philosophy is offered at all levels of university education in St. Gallen: initially in the assessment year, then at the bachelor's and master's levels, and also at the doctoral level. The staff of the Department of Philosophy accordingly supervises bachelor's and master's theses as well as doctoral projects. A habilitation in philosophy is also possible at the University of St. Gallen.

In the area of reflection skills, every student can take a philosophy course. Introductory seminars on various topics, primarily from the fields of practical philosophy, political philosophy, philosophy of language, and epistemology, are offered.

Contextual studies 

The master's program "Organization and Culture" is interdisciplinary in nature and open to both economists and scholars from the humanities, cultural studies, and social sciences. The Department of Philosophy specifically contributes to this program with events in the areas of political philosophy, democracy theory, and cultural theory.

Within the doctoral program "Organization and Culture," there is an opportunity to pursue a PhD with philosophical work. The department primarily conducts interdisciplinary doctoral seminars.
