Compensation for disadvantages Students with a disability and/or chronic illness can request compensation for disadvantages. Compensation for disadvantages consists of specific measures aimed at compensating for existing difficulties that are relevant to studies and/or examinations. These are invariably formal adaptations. The content and the fundamental demands made by studies and examinations remain unchanged. Compensation for disadvantages is agreed between the University of St.Gallen and individual students as a matter of principle. Please note that prior to submitting a request for compensation for disadvantages, a meeting with the Special Needs Advice Center will be required (contact data in the context menu). A request for compensation for disadvantages can be submitted for the following examinations (for information, go to Downloads the context area): • admission test, • examinations of the Integration Week, • central examinations, • decentral examinations, • accounting examination. Additionally, you can request an extension of the Assessment Year. Should you need specific support for your studies, please note that prior to submitting a request for study relevant support, a meeting with Special Needs will be required. Information and details concerning request deadlines and the evidence to be submitted (medical certificate, psychological test assessment, etc.) can be found in the context area under Downloads. Requests have to be submitted electronically to the Examination Management through the StudentWeb (link in the context menu). Please obtain the necessary information about the evidence required early on and comply with the individual submission deadlines.
