Through the search portal HSGswisscovery you now have access to a collection of 30 million media and 3 billion electronic journal articles. HSGswisscovery is the result of a merger of 500 academic libraries in Switzerland. More information on HSGswisscovery here.

The new courier service delivers to all these libraries in approximately 48 hours. You can order from a vastly increased pool of libraries to your desired destination library or directly to your home. More on the media courier here.

To use the services of the HSG library as well as the extended media collection you will need to create a new library account. This new account will allow you to manage all your borrowed items, reservations and fees from all participating libraries in one place. More information on registering here.

The system overhaul also means that our borrowing regulations and fees will be adjusted among the participating libraries. For you as a HSG library user this means a new lending period of 28 days, a reduced return period of 6 days, the option of borrowing up to 100 media at once, and a minimal raise of the courier fee to CHF 6.-. You can now return any media you have borrowed before the 02.12.2020 in person at the library and, unless they have been reserved, we can immediately book them unto your new account for you. The last lending period ends on the 16.12.2020. If you still have any media from the old system on you account, you will have received an e-mail in early December. However, we do not recommend leaving it until the very latest, a hardcover book with 600 hundred pages easily weighs a kilo!
