Concept of the Children’s University Our lectures for children are held by full professors of our university. The topics range from business, to economics, to law. In our children’s lectures, we refer to day-to-day situations and examples drawn from the children’s environment. The independent lectures on different subjects allows the children to follow the speeches, even if they visit the Children's University for only one afternoon. Access to our children’s lectures is free of charge, but registration is required. Objectives The objective is to explain topics relevant to children in society, in addition to what they learn at school, and sharpen their ability to think critically. The goal is also, for children to learn about a further education institution, regardless of whether they attend a university later on, and in particular if they come from an environment that is not academic. HSG Children's University history Anna-Thea, the daughter of HSG Prof. Franz Jaeger, triggered the idea for our Children’s University. The President's Board quickly warmed to the idea of lectures for children. While looking at how to put the Children’s University into practice, we analysed other children's university models in detail. However, we adopted an approach tailor-made for our university.
