Personal Leave

Personal leave requests must be submitted to the company commander in good time via the official channels.

In the event that a civilian solution is not possible, the law provides for the possibility of personal leave on duty to solve the problem. The conditions are

  • the needs of the service allow it;
  • max. 20% of the service in total;
  • max. 10% of service at a time (in basic training programmes).

Experience has shown that it is quite possible to grant personal leave for a maximum of three days in a WK, e.g. to attend a block seminar.

Procedure:

Use the App based solution of the Swiss Armed Forces or write a written request with the following content as early as possible:

  • Your military identification (incl. AHV number, degree, name, address);
  • A precise justification including any evidence;
  • The exact leave times in relation to the troop location (When do you have to leave? When will you return?);
  • In the case of several or longer periods of leave, be sure to indicate which parts may be more important than others.

Send the request to the course commander or to us for confirmation. You will be informed of the decision on your request directly, but possibly only during your service.
The commander's decision is formally final. In the event of a conflict, please get in touch with us so that we can do what is possible.

Effect:

If your request for personal leave is approved, you may leave the troop during the approved times. If necessary, inform other superiors of this fact and ensure that you have the necessary transport to the station/car park. During your leave, you are still subject to military regulations, particularly with regard to narcotics.

If you are unable to return from your leave on time for compelling reasons, inform the course command immediately. If you are ill but fit for transport, you must re-enlist.
